PCB to Keep Central Contracts Details Confidential: Report

Date:

Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to make public the details of its central contracts, including the number of players awarded contracts and their respective categories, according to official sources.

The Pakistan Cricket Board said that the classification of players and contract distribution will remain confidential as it is part of the internal selection process.

Sources said that players contracted under different categories will also be subject to new domestic cricket requirements, including mandatory participation in first-class, List A, and T20 matches depending on their assigned track.

Officials indicated that contracted players may be required to play a minimum number of domestic matches, including around five first-class games and up to 10 List A matches, subject to availability and international duties.

Players will also be required to remain available for domestic cricket when not on international duty, ensuring continuous participation in the domestic structure.

Sources added that centrally contracted players will remain eligible across all formats, and team management may select players from any category based on performance and requirements.

The PCB’s decision reflects a broader effort to strengthen domestic cricket and ensure player fitness, form, and consistency ahead of international assignments.
