Pakistan’s 14-Year-Old Archer Aswa Marjan Finishes Third in Moscow
MOSCOW, RUSSIA — WEB DESK: Pakistan’s young horseback archer Aswa Marjan has secured third position at an international championship in Moscow, adding another overseas achievement to her developing sporting career.
The 14-year-old athlete competed at the International Greater Asian Horseback Archery Championship, where she finished third against competitors that included leading archers from Indonesia and Kazakhstan, according to Express Urdu.
Aswa, who hails from Bhakkar, Pakistan, represented the country at the international event and was recognised for her performance following the competition.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia Faisal Niaz Tirmizi met the young athlete in Russia after her performance and congratulated her on representing Pakistan at the championship.
The ambassador praised Aswa’s performance at a young age, saying she had impressed observers with her showing at the international competition.
The Moscow result adds to Aswa’s previous appearances in international horseback archery competitions the teenager has already delivered notable performances at overseas events.
Horseback archery combines equestrian skills with traditional archery, requiring competitors to control a moving horse while accurately shooting arrows at designated targets. The discipline demands balance, speed, timing and precision from riders.
Aswa’s latest result also brings attention to Pakistan’s participation in a relatively specialised international sporting discipline, particularly at the junior level.
However, publicly accessible independent documentation of the Moscow championship’s complete results was limited at the time of publication. The athlete’s third-place finish, age, location and competitors are therefore attributed to the Express Urdu report rather than presented as independently verified official tournament results.
