Birmingham, United Kingdom – Web Desk: The identity of a Pakistani-origin British teenager killed in a knife attack outside a mosque in Birmingham has been confirmed by police, British media reported.

West Midlands Police said the victim was 18-year-old Zeeshan Afzal, a resident of a suburban area of Birmingham, who had arrived at the mosque to perform Taraweeh prayers when he was stabbed in the parking area by an armed suspect.

Zeeshan Afzal died at the scene, while three other young men were seriously injured in the attack and rushed to a nearby hospital, where they received treatment in intensive care. The injured victims, aged between 19 and 22, are now reported to be in stable condition and out of danger.

Police said there is currently no evidence suggesting the attack was racially or religiously motivated, but investigations are ongoing. The suspect remains at large, and authorities have urged residents and witnesses to come forward with any information that could help the investigation.

West Midlands Police have reassured the local community that additional officers have been deployed in the area to maintain public safety and help restore normalcy.
