Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: A Pakistani oil tanker carrying approximately 80 million litres of diesel has successfully crossed the strategically sensitive Strait of Hormuz and entered the Gulf of Oman, shipping sources confirmed.
The vessel, Khairpur, operated by Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, departed from Kuwait carrying a large fuel consignment destined for Pakistan.
Sources said the tanker was granted special clearance to transit through the Strait of Hormuz amid heightened regional tensions and tightened maritime security conditions in the Gulf.
The vessel is expected to arrive at Karachi Port within the next two to three days, where the diesel cargo will be offloaded.
Officials from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) said the shipment will help bolster Pakistan’s fuel reserves and ensure stability in domestic petroleum supply during a period of regional uncertainty.
The safe passage of the tanker highlights the continued flow of energy supplies through one of the world’s most critical oil transit routes despite ongoing geopolitical tensions.
