Pakistan, US Sign MoU for Strategic Roosevelt Hotel Redevelopment

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan and the United States have officially launched a strategic economic partnership concerning the Roosevelt Hotel in New York, marking a significant step in bilateral economic collaboration.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. The agreement covers hotel operations, maintenance, renovation, and potential redevelopment, under the guidance of the US General Services Administration (GSA).

According to the Ministry of Finance, the MoU establishes a structured framework for jointly evaluating technical, commercial, and economic aspects over a defined period, ensuring transparent, disciplined, and mutually beneficial progress.

The Roosevelt Hotel, situated in a prime Manhattan location, involves complex New York zoning and municipal regulations. Institutional coordination aims to minimize implementation risks, improve regulatory clarity, and maximize financial returns for both countries.

The initiative is part of Pakistan’s broader privatization strategy to maximize the value of strategic assets and strengthen long-term economic ties with the United States.
