Peshawar, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s security forces killed four militants during two separate counterterrorism operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The ISPR said two militants were killed during an exchange of fire in the Dera Ismail Khan district, while two others were eliminated in an intelligence-based operation in Mohmand district. Security forces also recovered weapons and ammunition from the slain militants.
According to the military, the individuals were involved in multiple terrorist activities. A clearance operation is ongoing in the affected areas to eliminate any remaining threats and ensure the region is secure.
The ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam would continue with full force until all externally supported terrorist networks are dismantled.
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for the successful operations.
In separate statements, the leaders said the nation values the sacrifices made by the armed forces and security agencies and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eliminating terrorism and its facilitators from the country.
