The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has reported that the country received 13% above-normal rainfall during the April–June 2026 pre-monsoon season, indicating generally favorable weather conditions across most regions.
Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: According to the PMD’s latest seasonal report, Pakistan recorded an average of 73 millimeters of rainfall during the pre-monsoon period.
The report showed that Punjab received 23% more rainfall than normal, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recorded a 15% increase and Azad Jammu and Kashmir experienced 10% above-average rainfall.
Balochistan also recorded 10% higher-than-normal rainfall, whereas Sindh’s rainfall remained close to the seasonal average, according to the department.
The PMD noted that Gilgit-Baltistan was the only region where pre-monsoon rainfall remained below normal, recording 17% less rainfall than the seasonal average.
Meteorologists said the rainfall pattern reflects relatively improved weather conditions ahead of the monsoon season, although regional variations remain significant and continued monitoring will be necessary.
