London, United Kingdom – Web Desk:Pakistan has ranked among the world’s weakest passports, placing fourth from the bottom in the latest global passport rankings released by the Henley Passport Index for 2026.
According to the report, Singapore retained its position as the world’s most powerful passport, offering visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 192 destinations — the highest level of global mobility.
The second position is jointly held by Japan, South Korea, and United Arab Emirates, whose citizens can travel to 187 destinations without prior visas. Meanwhile, Norway and Switzerland follow closely with access to 185 destinations.
The report highlights that European countries continue to dominate global passport strength rankings, with the average visa-free access for European Union nations standing at 183 destinations — comparable to countries like United Kingdom and Malaysia.
At the lower end of the index, Afghanistan ranks last, with its citizens able to travel visa-free to only 23 destinations. It is followed by Syria and Iraq. Pakistan stands fourth among the weakest passports globally.
Analysts attribute weaker passport rankings to factors such as political instability, ongoing conflicts, and rising migration trends, which continue to affect international mobility for citizens of these countries.
