Pakistan Raises Petrol Price by Rs5.02 to Rs375.82 Per Litre

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN — WEB DESK: Pakistan has raised petrol and high-speed diesel prices again, adding to pressure on consumers already facing elevated transport and living costs.

According to a notification cited by Express Urdu, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs5.02 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs375.82 per litre.

The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has meanwhile been raised by Rs5.28 per litre, pushing it above the Rs400 mark to Rs403.32 per litre.

The report said the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised petroleum product prices under the pricing mechanism formulated by the federal government.

The revised prices will remain effective for three days, from September 12 to September 14, 2026, according to the notification cited in the report.

Latest Fuel Prices

FuelPrevious PriceIncreaseNew Price
PetrolRs370.80/litreRs5.02Rs375.82/litre
High-Speed DieselRs398.04/litreRs5.28Rs403.32/litre

The latest revision follows another increase just a day earlier. High-speed diesel had been raised by Rs5.37 per litre to Rs398.04, while petrol had increased by Rs3.05 to Rs370.80 per litre, according to Express Urdu.

That means petrol has risen by a combined Rs8.07 per litre across the two reported revisions, while high-speed diesel has increased by a combined Rs10.65 per litre.

The latest increase is particularly significant for high-speed diesel because its price has now crossed Rs400 per litre. Diesel is widely used in freight and public transport as well as parts of the agricultural sector, meaning sustained increases can feed into transportation and distribution costs.

Higher petrol prices, meanwhile, directly affect motorists and motorcycle users and can add pressure to household transport budgets.

The unusually short three-day validity period also makes the next petroleum price decision important for consumers and businesses, with the current rates scheduled to apply only through September 14.
