Islamabad-Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met US Vice President J.D. Vance in Islamabad on Friday, with both sides agreeing to work together for peace and stability in the region, according to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
The meeting was also attended by US special envoy Steve Witkoff and former presidential adviser Jared Kushner, while Pakistan was represented by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
According to the official communiqué, the two sides held detailed discussions on bilateral relations and key regional developments, with a particular focus on promoting long-term peace and cooperation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting sustainable peace in the region, stating that Islamabad would continue its diplomatic efforts to facilitate dialogue between relevant parties.
The statement added that the Prime Minister welcomed the constructive engagement of both Iranian and US delegations in ongoing talks, describing the process as a potential step toward durable regional peace.
The White House also confirmed the meeting between the US Vice President and the Pakistani Prime Minister.
Officials said both sides agreed that continued engagement and cooperation were essential to strengthening trust and improving stability across the region.
