ISLAMABAD – Web Desk: Pakistan has achieved a significant milestone in space technology with the successful launch of an indigenously developed electro-optical satellite, the military’s media wing confirmed.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the locally built electro-optical satellite was launched from China’s Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.

The successful launch of the EO-3 satellite represents a major advancement in Pakistan’s journey toward self-reliance and technical expertise, the statement said. The satellite will provide advanced imaging data and is expected to revolutionize key sectors including urban planning, disaster management, food security, and environmental protection.

The EO-3 satellite will help establish an integrated Earth observation system to support various sectors aligned with national priorities and contribute to sustainable socio-economic development, ISPR added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the professional capabilities and commitment of SUPARCO’s engineers and scientists, while also acknowledging China’s continued cooperation as Pakistan’s long-standing friend in the space sector.
