PM Shehbaz, FM Ishaq Dar Engage Both Capitals; Peace in Middle East Top Priority
Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan has initiated active diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions between the United States and Iran. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, highlighting the importance of regional peace, security, and sustainable dialogue.
Foreign Minister and Deputy PM Ishaq Dar also held discussions with Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, stressing diplomacy as the only viable path forward. Simultaneously, Pakistan maintains engagement with the US, recognizing that any US-Iran escalation could affect the entire region.
Pakistan’s diplomacy extends to international forums, including the World Economic Forum, to advocate for peace and stability. Islamabad emphasizes that while it joins the Board of Peace for Gaza and Palestine, it will not participate in any Abraham Accords agreements. Pakistan continues to support a free Palestinian state based on 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital.
