Pakistan Hockey Captain Imad Butt’s Two-Year Ban Lifted

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The ad-hoc President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) and Federal Secretary for Inter-Provincial Coordination, Mohiuddin Wani, announced the immediate lifting of the two-year ban on national hockey team captain Imad Shakil Butt.

In his statement, Wani emphasized that the player will now focus solely on training and matches, while all other administrative matters will be handled by the federation. He reiterated the commitment of all relevant authorities to restore and strengthen national hockey.

Wani confirmed that transparent and democratic elections for new federation leadership will be held soon. As ad-hoc president, his immediate priorities include stabilizing the institution, restoring confidence, and reorganizing team management systems. Short-term measures will address pressing issues, while mid-term strategies will develop a comprehensive vision, including enhancing coaching systems and institutional coordination.

He also stated that governance within the federation will be improved, resources will be used transparently and effectively, and partnerships with the private sector will provide players with better facilities. Wani thanked the Prime Minister for his trust, vowing that transparency and fairness will guide all decisions to restore Pakistan hockey to its former glory.
