Pakistan Government Announces Cut in Petroleum Product Prices

ISLAMABAD – Web Desk: The federal government has announced a reduction in petroleum product prices, with the Petroleum Division issuing a notification for new rates effective May 23, 2026, for one week.

According to the notification, the government has reduced the per liter price of diesel by Rs 6.80 and petrol by Rs 6.00. Following the decision, the new price of petrol is Rs 403.78 per liter, while diesel will cost Rs 402.78 per liter.

Last week, the government had reduced petroleum product prices by Rs 5 per liter, setting petrol and diesel prices at Rs 409.78 and Rs 409.58 per liter, respectively. Prior to that, the government had announced a significant increase, with petrol reaching Rs 414.78 and high-speed diesel Rs 414.58 per liter.
