Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan – Web Desk: Pakistan and Kazakhstan have reaffirmed their joint commitment to expanding trade and investment ties, building on recent high-level engagements and a series of bilateral agreements.
Key Meeting on SCO Sidelines
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev on the sidelines of the SCO meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan. The leaders reviewed positive progress in bilateral relations following Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to Pakistan and reaffirmed their commitment to implementing 37 memoranda of understanding signed during the visit.
Expanding Cooperation
Discussions focused on expanding collaboration in trade, investment, transport, regional connectivity, energy, people-to-people contacts, and multilateral forums. Kosherbayev praised Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and diplomacy in the region, while both sides reiterated their shared commitment to regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
Invitation Extended
Kosherbayev also invited Deputy PM Dar to visit Kazakhstan, underscoring the growing momentum in ties between the two nations.
Pakistan-Belarus Bilateral Talks
Separately, Ishaq Dar met with Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov on the sidelines of the same summit. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission in Islamabad on August 11-12, 2026, and discussed expanding cooperation in defense, agriculture, technology, and labor exchange.
Ryzhenkov praised Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating the US-Iran dialogue and its ongoing efforts for regional peace and security.
