Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan is set to accelerate its technological development by linking youth to the IT sector, Federal Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima said on Monday. Addressing candidates at an entry test for IT courses organized by the Celani Welfare Trust at Karachi’s Hockey Stadium, she highlighted the government’s $1 billion investment under the Digital Nation Pakistan program.
Shaza Fatima emphasized that young people are the country’s greatest asset, and providing them with high-quality IT training will drive Pakistan’s rapid development. She added that efforts are underway to establish digital identification and ensure equal IT access for students across all cities.
The minister said Prime Minister has directed large-scale initiatives in the IT sector, recognizing its central role across industries. She noted that IT graduates will play a key role in diverse sectors and assured a bright future for them.
“Together, we pledge that Pakistan will lead the global IT revolution, with special focus on empowering women in technology,” she added.
Sindh’s IT Minister Ali Rashid described the current era as the age of information technology, stressing that success belongs to those who prepare accordingly. Governor of Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori said the federal government is working day and night to secure the future of IT students, asserting that Pakistan’s talent exceeds that of regional competitors.
He emphasized that after victories in defense, Pakistan is poised to lead in the fields of IT and economy, urging students to work hard and contribute to a nationwide IT network. The governor expressed confidence that Pakistan will soon achieve global prominence in the IT sector.
