Pak Military Claims Strike on Ammunition Depot in Taliban Stronghold

Date:

(Web Desk) – Pakistan’s military says it conducted a strike that destroyed an ammunition depot in Khost, claiming the operation targeted militant infrastructure following reported cross-border hostilities.

Security sources stated that the operation, described as part of ongoing countermeasures, resulted in the destruction of the depot. Officials asserted that retaliatory actions were taken in response to what they described as unprovoked activity along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The military further claimed that operations under the initiative “Operation Ghazb al-Haq” are continuing, with authorities stating that hostile forces have faced setbacks across multiple fronts. No independent verification of the claims has been provided, and Afghan authorities have not issued an immediate response.

Relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan have experienced periodic tension over border security and militant activity. Officials in Islamabad said security forces remain vigilant and are monitoring developments.

The situation underscores ongoing regional security challenges and the complexity of cross-border counterterrorism efforts.
