Mahmood Khan Achakzai warns of no tolerance for negligence in PTI leader’s medical care
Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Opposition leaders have strongly condemned the transfer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan to a hospital from Adiala Jail, demanding full transparency regarding his health.
National Assembly opposition leader and TTPA head Mahmood Khan Achakzai called the move “criminal negligence,” stating that no delay or secrecy regarding Imran Khan’s medical condition would be tolerated. He urged authorities to immediately allow family and personal doctors access to the PTI chairman and announced a nationwide shutdown on February 8 to protest perceived injustice.
Senate opposition leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas also criticized the transfer, calling it inhumane and a violation of human rights. He warned that any ambiguity or delay in Imran Khan’s treatment could have serious consequences, emphasizing that the state is fully responsible for his health and well-being.
Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar confirmed that the PTI chairman was temporarily moved to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for minor eye treatment based on specialist recommendations, after which he was returned to Adiala Jail with necessary instructions.
