Oman Ready to Fully Support Pakistan in Priority Oil Supplies

Date:

Islamabad – Web Desk: Omani Ambassador to Pakistan Fahad bin Suleiman bin Khalaf has assured Islamabad of full cooperation to strengthen Pakistan’s energy security and said that Oman would positively consider Pakistan’s requests for priority petroleum supply.

The statement came during a meeting between the Omani envoy and Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, where both officials discussed the evolving energy situation in the region.

Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik noted that Pakistan is taking steps to import oil through alternative routes and sources outside the Strait of Hormuz due to changing regional dynamics. He also confirmed that three petrol cargoes and one diesel cargo from Omani ports have already been imported during March, with two additional petrol cargoes scheduled to arrive later this month.

The Omani ambassador expressed readiness to assist Pakistan in enhancing its energy security and said that Oman will consider Pakistan’s requests on a priority basis.

Additionally, Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Oman Trading (OQT) are engaged in constructive negotiations to provide extra oil cargoes to meet Pakistan’s requirements.

This cooperation comes amid rising global oil prices and regional uncertainties that have heightened Pakistan’s focus on securing reliable energy imports.
