KARACHI (Web Desk)-The Inspector General of Sindh Police Ghulam Nabi Memon has claimed that aggressive police actions have brought an end to the era of no go areas in Larkana Range.
Addressing a dinner reception on Friday, the IGP paid tribute to the policemen of the Larkana Range for eradicating ransom and honey trap gangs of kidnappers.
“Larkana Range is witnessing a big drop in crimes while the kidnapping for ransom has almost come to an end,” he asserted. Memon praised DIG Larkana Nasir Aftab Pathan and SSP Shahzed Chachar for leading the cops from the front during operations in the areas where people avoided to go.
“When an officer leads from the front, his policemen also act with bravery and courage,” he underlined. He also expressed gratitude to the intelligence agencies and Sindh Rangers for consistently helping the police in actions against bandits and other criminals.
According to him, among the 2,576 martyrs of the Sindh police, as many as 512 belong to the Larkana Range, a second highest figure of martyred policemen after Karachi Range. The IG said after curbing the kidnapping for ransom cases the second target of the police is extortionists.
The IGP believed that better security arrangements on the highways have made travel safer and easier for the people. “Not just security but a sense of security is also necessary,” he said.
