New Zealand Set 169-Run Target for Sri Lanka in Super 8

Colombo, Sri Lanka – Web Desk: New Zealand set Sri Lanka a target of 169 runs in the Super 8 stage match of the ICC T20 World Cup after posting 168 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs in Colombo.

Batting first after Sri Lanka opted to field, New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner led the innings with a crucial 47 runs, while Cole McConchie remained unbeaten on 31. Rachin Ravindra contributed 32, Finn Allen scored 23, Glenn Phillips added 18, Tim Seifert made 8, Daryl Mitchell scored 3, and Mark Chapman was dismissed for a duck.

For Sri Lanka, Maheesh Theekshana and Dushmantha Chameera claimed three wickets each, while Dunith Wellalage picked up one wicket.

The match is the sixth fixture of the Super 8 round and the 46th match of the tournament, with Sri Lanka needing 169 runs to secure victory.
