Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Multiple traffic accidents on Karachi highways on Monday resulted in five fatalities and several serious injuries, authorities reported.
On Super Highway near New Sabzi Mandi Gate 1, an unidentified vehicle struck a pedestrian, killing 55-year-old Abdul Hameed. His body was transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem, according to rescue officials.
In a separate incident on the Northern Bypass near Hamdard University Dua Hotel in Manghopir, a collision between an oil tanker and a trailer left four people critically injured. The trailer overturned during the crash. Injured individuals—22-year-old Samar, 22-year-old Totah, 25-year-old Bilal, and 45-year-old Rehmatullah—were rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for emergency treatment. Three were trailer occupants and one was the tanker driver, authorities confirmed.
Additionally, near Quaidabad DC Office on the National Highway, a high-speed truck ran over three motorcyclists, leaving them severely wounded. 25-year-old Irfan Abdul Razak, 25-year-old Hussain Haider Bakhsh, and 27-year-old Nadir Hussain were transported to Jinnah Hospital. The truck driver fled the scene, and police are actively searching for the suspect.
Traffic authorities and rescue teams have urged motorists to exercise caution on major highways following these incidents.
