TEHRAN – Web Desk: Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has been re-elected as Speaker of Iran’s Parliament for the seventh consecutive year, according to Iranian news agency Fars.
Ghalibaf secured a majority in the parliamentary vote, after which his re-election was formally announced. He is regarded as an influential figure in Iranian politics and has played a prominent role in recent Iran-US negotiations, including efforts to end the war and reduce regional tensions.
Political analysts suggest that Ghalibaf’s re-election indicates that Iranian leadership wishes to maintain continuity in current political and diplomatic policies, especially at a time when regional tensions, ceasefire negotiations, and global diplomacy have entered a critical phase. Ghalibaf previously served as Mayor of Tehran and has extensive experience in Iranian politics and security affairs.
