Kohat, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced a significant energy breakthrough with the discovery of new oil and gas reserves in the Nashpa Block, located in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to an OGDCL spokesperson, the newly drilled Braqzai X-1 well is producing 225 barrels of oil and 1 million cubic feet of gas per day. Drilling operations at the site began on December 30, 2024, reaching a total depth of 5,170 meters. Early drill stem tests had already indicated promising signs of hydrocarbons in multiple geological formations.
The spokesperson added that this discovery is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s domestic energy supply and contribute to the country’s overall hydrocarbon reserves, providing a vital boost to the national economy and energy sector.
