Madiha Imam’s frank response on working in India

Date:

(Web Desk) Pakistani television actress and host Madiha Imam has spoken openly about the possibility of working in India, saying that art should rise above borders while also being approached with sensitivity and awareness.

Madiha Imam, who began her career as a video jockey before moving into acting, has earned widespread recognition for her performances in dramas such as Ishq Mein Teray, Muqaddar, Baba Jani, Zakham, Ishq Jalebi, Dushman-e-Jaan, and Dil-e-Momin. She was recently praised for her roles in Yahya and Behroopia. The actress is married to Indian filmmaker Moji Basar.

She shared her views during a recent interview at a private channel, where she was asked about her thoughts on working in India in the future.

Speaking on the subject, Madiha said that actors should ideally be able to work anywhere in the world, but acknowledged that cross-border projects come with sensitivities that must be carefully considered.

She said that for artists, creativity should flow freely and the entire world should be seen as a canvas where they are able to express themselves.

However, she added that it is important to remain conscious of the circumstances and make well-thought-out decisions.

During the discussion, host Faysal Quraishi also remarked that despite historical conflicts, such as the United States bombing Japan, Japanese actors continue to work in Hollywood, showing that art can go beyond political differences.

In response to another question, Madiha Imam named Vidya Balan as the Bollywood actor she would like to invite to Pakistan, saying that Vidya Balan could be a valuable addition to Pakistan’s television industry if given the opportunity.
