Lakki Marwat, Pakistan – Web Desk : At least six police officers, including the Station House Officer (SHO), were killed in an IED attack targeting a police vehicle near Shadi Khel Police Station in Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, local authorities confirmed on Friday.
According to police reports, the blast occurred when the vehicle was passing near the station. The deceased include SHO Sadar Azam, Constable Shah Bahram (driver), Constable Shah Khalid, Constable Haji Muhammad, Constable Gul Zada, and Constable Sakhi Zada. Another constable, Insaf Uddin, was injured and admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Emergency response teams immediately rushed to the scene to provide aid and transport the injured and deceased to medical facilities. Authorities have cordoned off the area for investigation.
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, condemned the attack, calling it “extremely tragic” and directed the Inspector General of Police to submit a detailed report. He assured full support for the families of the fallen officers and instructed authorities to provide the best medical care for the injured.
“The cowardly actions of terrorists cannot shake our resolve,” he said, reiterating the provincial government’s commitment to law enforcement and public safety.
