KP CM Sohail Afridi, five MPAs declared proclaimed offenders

Date:

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Five members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Assembly, including Chief Minister Suhail Afridi, have been declared proclaimed offenders in terrorism-related cases, according to an official court notice issued on Wednesday.

Judicial advertisements published under court orders name Mina Khan, Amjad Ali, Shafiullah Jan, Iqbal Afridi and CM Sohail Afridi as proclaimed offender.

The notices state that the accused have been declared absconders in two cases registered by Counter Terrorism Department.

As per the court directive, all five individuals have been instructed to appear before the court within 30 days. The advertisements warn that failure to comply within the stipulated period will result in further legal action under the law.

Sources said the proclamations stem from proceedings initiated by an anti-terrorism court, which on December 4 ordered the issuance of public notices after repeated non-appearance of the accused. Following the order, Islamabad police published the advertisements to formally notify the suspects and ensure compliance.

The court notices clearly outline that continued absence beyond the 30-day window will trigger stricter measures, including attachment of property and additional penal consequences, as provided under applicable criminal procedure.

Officials confirmed that the matter remains sub judice and that law enforcement agencies will proceed strictly in accordance with the court’s directions. Further developments are expected once the deadline for appearance expires.
