Karachi Roads Reopened Near US Consulate After Protests

KARACHI, Pakistan – Web Desk : Authorities in Karachi have reopened roads around the US Consulate following temporary closures due to security concerns after violent protests, city officials confirmed on March 10, 2026.

According to the Karachi Traffic Police, major routes including Jinnah Bridge via MT Khan Road to Mai Kolai and through Boat Basin have been fully cleared. Barriers along roads from Boat Basin to Jinnah Bridge have also been removed.

Traffic flow has been restored on the route from Jinnah Bridge via Sultanabad to PIDC, with remaining barricades being dismantled to ensure uninterrupted movement. The Traffic Police urged drivers not to travel against traffic on reopened roads and assured the public that personnel remain on-site to guide commuters.

Authorities emphasized that these measures are part of routine security protocols around diplomatic missions to maintain public safety while minimizing disruption.
