Murtaza Wahab announces renovation of the Saddar landmark ahead of Rabi-ul-Awwal celebrations.
KARACHI, Pakistan — Web Desk: Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has announced that Regal Chowk in the city’s Saddar area will be renamed Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk.
The mayor visited Regal Chowk along with the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s Municipal Commissioner and City Council members. During the visit, he formally announced the renaming of the landmark from Regal Chowk to Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk.
Speaking on the occasion, Wahab said lighting and decoration arrangements would be made across Karachi to mark Rabi-ul-Awwal, and that Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk would undergo fresh renovation and beautification work ahead of the occasion.
He added that the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation had made exemplary arrangements during Muharram-ul-Haram and would extend the same level of service to residents during Rabi-ul-Awwal.
Regal Chowk is a well-known commercial landmark in Karachi’s Saddar Town, a busy central business district. City authorities in Karachi periodically undertake renovation and beautification projects around religious occasions, particularly during Muharram and Rabi-ul-Awwal.
According to the mayor, all relevant civic departments will remain on high alert throughout the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal to ensure smooth arrangements for residents.
Renovation and decoration work at the newly named Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk is expected to be carried out in the coming weeks ahead of Rabi-ul-Awwal.
