KARACHI – Web Desk: A major operation was conducted late at night against illegal constructions on hillside areas around Hill Park in Karachi, with heavy machinery used to demolish multiple structures, according to city officials.
The operation, initiated on the instructions of Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, resulted in the demolition of boundary walls and several illegal structures on a controversial plot. The operation was carried out by the Land Department staff under the supervision of Director Encroachment Sher Ali. A KMC spokesman stated that all illegal constructions around Hill Park have been eliminated and the area has been completely cleared of encroachments.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Karachi has written to the Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Works, requesting complete records of Plot No. 39-G-4, Block 6. Sources indicate that claims by PECHS regarding leasing of the said plot have emerged, and further investigation is ongoing. The administration stated that indiscriminate operations against illegal constructions in the city will continue to prevent any attempts to occupy government and protected lands.
