Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Karachi is expected to continue experiencing intense heat as sea breezes remain suspended, pushing temperatures to uncomfortable levels, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
Weather officials said the city will remain hot and dry over the next 24 hours, with maximum temperatures likely to range between 37°C and 39°C, while the minimum temperature recorded overnight was 26.5°C.
The suspension of sea breezes — a key moderating factor for Karachi’s coastal climate — has contributed to rising heat levels. Humidity currently stands at around 48%, adding to the discomfort.
Across Pakistan, most regions are also expected to experience hot and dry weather, although isolated rain is forecast in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.
On Monday, some of the highest temperatures were recorded in Turbat and Mithi, both reaching 45°C. Other major cities, including Karachi, Sukkur, and Thatta, recorded highs of around 44°C, while Lahore saw temperatures near 37°C.
Meanwhile, parts of Punjab, including Lahore and Faisalabad, experienced rainfall and hailstorms, offering temporary relief. However, severe weather conditions in northern areas led to casualties, with at least five people reported dead due to lightning strikes in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir.
In higher-altitude regions such as Babusar Top and areas near Nanga Parbat, intermittent snowfall has also been reported.
