JD Vance Warns Iran Ahead of High-Stakes Islamabad Talks

Date:

Washington, United States – Web Desk: US Vice President J. D. Vance has issued a strong warning to Iran ahead of crucial negotiations in Islamabad, stating that Washington will not respond positively if Tehran fails to demonstrate seriousness.

Speaking to media before departing from Maryland for Pakistan, Vance said he was heading to participate in talks under the guidance of US President Donald Trump, expressing cautious optimism about the outcome.

“If Iranian leadership engages in good faith, the United States is ready to move forward constructively,” he said. “However, if there is any attempt at deception or lack of seriousness, the US negotiating team will not respond positively.”

The high-level talks between the United States and Iran, being facilitated by Pakistan, are scheduled to take place in Islamabad. The negotiations are seen as a critical step toward stabilizing tensions following a fragile ceasefire in the region.

The US delegation includes special envoy Steve Witkoff and senior adviser Jared Kushner, while Iran will be represented by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Diplomatic observers say the tone of the talks will be crucial in determining whether the ceasefire evolves into a longer-term agreement or collapses under renewed tensions.
