Date:

Washington, United States – Web Desk:US Vice President J. D. Vance has departed for Pakistan to participate in high-level negotiations aimed at ending tensions with Iran.

Speaking to reporters before boarding his flight, Vance expressed optimism about the upcoming talks, stating that he expects “positive outcomes” from the diplomatic engagement. He added that US President Donald Trump has provided a set of guiding principles to steer the negotiations.

According to US media reports, Vance is accompanied by special envoy Steve Witkoff and senior adviser Jared Kushner, both of whom have previously been involved in indirect discussions with Iranian representatives.

The talks, scheduled to take place in Islamabad, are part of broader diplomatic efforts to ease regional tensions following a temporary ceasefire.

Washington’s primary objectives include addressing concerns over Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs, as well as its alleged support for armed proxy groups across the Middle East.

The visit underscores Pakistan’s growing role as a key diplomatic venue, as global powers seek dialogue to prevent further escalation in an already volatile region.
