Beirut, Lebanon – Web Desk: Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon have led to an unexpected show of unity between Muslim and Christian communities as families displaced by ongoing hostilities seek shelter and support together.
During a visit to conflict-affected areas in southern Lebanon, Geo News program host Hamid Mir visited a church where administration officials had provided refuge to Muslim families displaced by the war. The families are reportedly living peacefully under the protection of the church, highlighting growing interfaith solidarity amid the crisis.
Pakistani nationals residing in Lebanon also expressed that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in facilitating recent US-Iran reconciliation have enhanced the country’s image abroad. They said Pakistan is now being viewed with greater respect in Lebanon following its perceived mediation role.
Meanwhile, despite a declared ceasefire, Israeli military operations in Lebanon continue. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that Israeli forces will continue operations to maintain a security zone in southern Lebanon.
The ongoing strikes and continued military activity have further intensified humanitarian concerns in the region, as displaced civilians continue to seek shelter and assistance amid escalating tensions.
