Beirut, Lebanon – Web Desk: Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has sparked strong international reaction after saying that “all of Lebanon should be burned,” following the killing of four Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon.
According to media reports, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that four soldiers were killed in combat when their tank was struck during an operation near Kfar Tebnit in southern Lebanon.
Ben Gvir, posting on X, wrote that “for every tear of an Israeli mother, a thousand Lebanese mothers should cry,” escalating tensions further amid ongoing cross-border violence.
The IDF said one of the killed soldiers was identified as 32-year-old Lieutenant Colonel Dor Gidalia Ben Semhoun, commander of the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Armored Brigade.
The Israeli military also confirmed overnight strikes across southern Lebanon, targeting Hezbollah operatives and infrastructure. Lebanese authorities reported that at least 18 people have been killed in the latest wave of attacks by morning.
The escalation comes amid already heightened tensions along the Israel–Lebanon border, with fears of further regional instability.
