BEIRUT – Web Desk: Despite a ceasefire agreement, Israeli forces have continued airstrikes and drone attacks in various areas of southern Lebanon, with 10 more people killed in recent attacks, according to Lebanese media.
The attacks were carried out near the Tyre region and border villages. Lebanon’s Health Ministry stated that several civilians were also injured in the strikes, with residential buildings and infrastructure damaged. Meanwhile, the Israeli military claimed that the operations targeted Hezbollah positions and military installations.
The attacks come at a time when hopes were rising for reduced tensions in the region following the recent ceasefire agreement. The United Nations and several international countries have urged both parties to exercise restraint and adhere to the ceasefire. Clashes between Israel and Hezbollah in southern Lebanon over recent months have caused widespread loss of life and property, with thousands of people having already displaced from border areas.
