ISLAMABAD – Web Desk: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Field Marshal Asim Munir during his official visit to Pakistan, according to a statement issued by the Iranian Embassy.
The statement noted that Araghchi held his first formal meeting with Pakistan’s military leadership. The meeting was also attended by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, National Security Adviser General Asim Malik, and the Director General of Military Intelligence, diplomatic sources said.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Gharibabadi, Iran’s Ambassador to Islamabad Amiri Moghaddam, and Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei were also present, sources added.
Araghchi arrived in Pakistan yesterday with a small delegation. He is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif later today.
The high-level engagements come as Pakistan facilitates potential talks between Iran and the United States, with Islamabad hosting diplomatic delegations from both sides amid ongoing regional tensions.
