ISLAMABAD – Web Desk: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will depart Pakistan today after meeting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, diplomatic sources confirmed.
According to sources, the Iranian delegation has no current plans for an extended stay. Araghchi will leave for Oman and Russia along with his delegation following the meeting with the prime minister.
Meanwhile, the head of Iran’s National Security Council, Ebrahim Azizi, stated that Araghchi’s visit to Pakistan will only focus on bilateral relations. “No discussions on the nuclear issue will take place during Araghchi’s visit to Pakistan,” Azizi said, adding that the nuclear matter is among Iran’s red lines.
It may be recalled that the Iranian delegation led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad yesterday. Subsequently, a White House spokesperson confirmed in an interview with US media that an American delegation — including Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner — would travel to Pakistan today for peace talks.
