Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran has warned that it could increase uranium enrichment to 90% if it comes under renewed military attack, in a statement that has further escalated tensions with the United States and Israel.
According to Iranian media reports, Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for a parliamentary commission, said on social media platform X that any new military action by the United States or Israel could prompt Tehran to consider raising uranium enrichment to 90%.
He added that the issue would be reviewed in parliament and any decision would be taken in line with national interests.
A 90% enrichment level is widely regarded by international experts as highly sensitive, as it is close to weapons-grade material. Western governments have long expressed concerns over Iran’s nuclear programme.
The statement comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, with ongoing disputes over Iran’s nuclear activities and regional security developments, including the Strait of Hormuz.
Analysts say the warning is likely to intensify diplomatic pressure and deepen uncertainty in an already volatile regional security environment.
