Iran Rules Out Talks With US, Says No Negotiations Possible – Ali Larijani

Date:

Tehran (Web Desk) – Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s National Security Council, has categorically rejected reports of potential negotiations with the United States, stating that Tehran will not engage in talks with Washington.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, Larijani said: “We will not negotiate with the United States.” His remarks came in response to media reports suggesting that following the reported death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, diplomatic intermediaries from Oman had explored the possibility of reviving nuclear negotiations.

Larijani criticised US foreign policy under Donald Trump, accusing him of plunging the Middle East into instability through what he described as misguided strategies. He further claimed that Trump’s “America First” policy had effectively shifted to “Israel First,” prioritising Israeli interests over American national security.

According to Larijani, US military involvement in regional conflicts serves external geopolitical objectives and places American service members at risk. He argued that the consequences of such policies would ultimately be borne by US soldiers and their families.

Tehran reiterated that Iran retains the right to defend its sovereignty and national security amid ongoing regional tensions involving the United States and Israel. Iranian officials have previously dismissed reports of backchannel negotiations as inaccurate.

The developments come at a time of heightened geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East following recent military escalations and diplomatic breakdowns.
