Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran has welcomed Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire, while reiterating its readiness to respond to any escalation in the region.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran appreciates Islamabad’s diplomatic role in easing tensions, adding that Iran remains prepared for “any situation.” He emphasized that Iran did not initiate the conflict and that all actions taken were in self-defense under international law.
“Iran will protect its national security and interests at all costs,” Baghaei said, underscoring the country’s firm stance amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that the region is moving toward a new order without external powers. The spokesperson added that Iranian forces are capable of responding to what they described as “aggression” by the United States and Israel.
The IRGC further claimed that the Iranian public had stood alongside the military for 50 consecutive nights during recent hostilities, calling it a “unique event in modern history.”
Earlier, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said operations by the IRGC had defied enemy expectations and successfully countered perceived threats, asserting that Iran’s armed forces had neutralized hostile strategies.
The remarks come amid ongoing uncertainty over ceasefire negotiations and rising regional tensions, with Pakistan continuing diplomatic outreach to bring both sides back to the negotiating table.
