Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran has placed its security forces on high alert ahead of the multi-day funeral ceremonies of the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, with military officials announcing extraordinary security measures to ensure the events are held peacefully.
According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia said the Iranian Armed Forces have been placed on maximum alert as senior government, political, and religious delegations from several countries are expected to attend the funeral ceremonies.
The military official stated that Iran’s ground, naval, and air forces have reinforced security along the country’s borders and at key strategic locations to counter any potential security threats during the high-profile events.
Brigadier General Akraminia also confirmed that Iran’s air defense units are continuously monitoring the country’s airspace and remain fully prepared to respond immediately to any unusual or suspicious activity.
The heightened security comes as Iran prepares for one of its most significant state ceremonies, with authorities aiming to ensure the safety of both domestic participants and international delegations attending the funeral.
