Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran has clarified that it never refused to engage in negotiations in Pakistan, countering what it described as misleading portrayals in U.S. media.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran remains open to diplomatic efforts and expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its role in facilitating peace initiatives. He emphasized that Iran’s position had been inaccurately represented, particularly by American media outlets.
“We are concerned with securing conditions for a final and lasting end to what we consider an illegal war,” Araghchi said, reiterating Tehran’s stance on pursuing a durable resolution to ongoing tensions. He concluded his statement with a message of appreciation, stating “Long live Pakistan.”
Separately, Esmail Qaani, head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, issued a strong warning regarding U.S. military presence in the region. He said American forces would ultimately be forced to withdraw.
Qaani also claimed that the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford was unable to pass through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, describing it as evidence of U.S. weakness in the face of regional resistance, particularly from Yemeni forces.
The statements come amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, with diplomatic efforts and military posturing continuing simultaneously.
