Ayatollah Khamenei resurfaces after weeks, quashing rumors of exile

Tehran, Iran | Web Desk: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has appeared in public after several weeks, amid escalating US and Israeli threats of a military strike on Iran and widespread rumors that he had been moved abroad for security reasons.

According to international media reports, Ayatollah Khamenei visited the mausoleum of Iran’s founding leader, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the Iranian Revolution. Official photos and videos were released to project stability at a time of intense regional tension, Iran–US standoff, and Middle East security concerns.

The images quickly went viral, reassuring the Iranian public about the Supreme Leader’s health, presence, and resolve, and countering speculation that his life was under imminent threat.

The development comes as two bomb blasts in separate areas of Iran on the same day left at least five people dead and 14 injured, further heightening security fears.

The explosions followed a statement by US President Donald Trump, who claimed Iran had been given a deadline to join a new agreement, warning of a major military attack if it failed to comply.

Meanwhile, reports confirm the deployment of a US naval fleet in the Arabian Sea, with a strong possibility of American military exercises near the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil route.
