Iran launches missile strikes on Israel after Larijani killing

Date:

Tehran/Tel Aviv – Web Desk: Iran launched a series of missile strikes on Israel following the reported killing of senior security official Ali Larijani, escalating tensions in the Middle East.

According to Iran’s state media and statements from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the attacks were carried out under “Operation Vadeh-e-Sadiq 4,” marking the 61st wave of strikes against Israel.

The IRGC said multiple missile systems—including Khorramshahr-4, Ghadr, Emad, and Khyber-Shikan—were launched toward Tel Aviv, targeting more than 100 military and security sites.

Israeli media reported significant damage in Tel Aviv, where several vehicles were destroyed and fires broke out in multiple locations. Buildings also sustained heavy damage. At least two people were killed in the strikes, according to initial reports.

Iranian state television said the attacks were in retaliation for the killing of Larijani, described as Iran’s National Security Council secretary. Reports also claimed that his son, Morteza Larijani, was killed in the same incident.

According to Iranian media, Larijani was targeted in eastern Tehran while visiting family. The circumstances surrounding the strike and the involvement of the United States and Israel have not been independently verified.

The developments mark a sharp escalation in the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, raising fears of broader regional instability.
