Iran FM Says Tehran Will Not Bow to US Pressure

Date:

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran would not yield to pressure from the United States, responding to remarks by US President Donald Trump’s special envoy questioning Iran’s refusal to comply with Washington’s demands.

In a post on social media platform X, Araghchi wrote, “You want to know why we do not bow? Because we are Iranian,” reacting to comments by US envoy Steve Witkoff.

Witkoff had said in an interview with Fox News that President Trump was surprised Iran had not accepted US demands despite extensive political and military pressure. He questioned why Tehran had not publicly renounced its nuclear ambitions amid the strong US naval presence in the region.

Araghchi’s remarks highlight Tehran’s defiant stance as tensions persist over Iran’s nuclear program and broader regional security dynamics, with both sides continuing to exchange sharp rhetoric.
