Iran Denies Any Planned Meeting with US in Pakistan

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Iran has firmly denied any plans for a meeting with the United States in Pakistan, amid ongoing diplomatic activity in the region.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said there is no arrangement for talks between Tehran and Washington during the current visit.

In a statement shared on social media, Baghaei confirmed that he has arrived in Islamabad alongside Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi for an official visit, where the delegation is scheduled to hold meetings with Pakistan’s senior leadership.

He said discussions will focus on Pakistan’s mediation efforts, regional peace and stability, and Iran’s position on recent developments. The talks are also expected to address what he described as “aggressive actions” imposed by the United States and the need to restore stability in the region.

Baghaei emphasized that while no Iran-US meeting is planned, the Iranian delegation will brief Pakistani officials on its stance and observations regarding ongoing tensions.

The statement follows comments by the White House, which had indicated that US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner would travel to Pakistan for talks linked to efforts aimed at ending the conflict involving Iran.

The differing positions highlight the complexity of diplomatic engagements currently underway, as multiple stakeholders seek to ease tensions and explore pathways toward dialogue.
