Iran Claims Drone Strikes on US Bases in Iraq, Jordan

Date:

Baghdad, Iraq / Amman, Jordan – Web Desk: Iran has claimed responsibility for a series of drone strikes targeting US-linked military and logistical facilities in Iraq and Jordan, further escalating tensions in the Middle East.

According to international media reports citing Iraqi security officials, drones struck a US diplomatic and logistics center at Baghdad International Airport. Two drones reportedly hit the facility, triggering a fire, while another was intercepted near the airport. No casualties were reported.

The Baghdad airport complex hosts both Iraqi military installations and US facilities, making it a strategic location in the region.

Separately, Iranian forces claimed they targeted a US military base at Al-Azraq Air Base in eastern Jordan. In a statement, Iran said the drone strike was aimed at US fighter aircraft stationed at the base, which it described as a key hub for American air operations in the region.

Iranian officials stated that the attack was intended to weaken US aerial combat capabilities in West Asia. The base is considered strategically significant, supporting advanced aircraft operations and drone missions.

Reports also indicated that similar attacks were carried out at the same base in recent days, targeting logistics warehouses, weapons depots, and residential facilities used by US personnel.

Meanwhile, Iran’s state media reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targeted a cloud computing facility in Bahrain.

The developments come amid heightened rhetoric from US President Donald Trump, who warned Iran to reach an agreement “before it is too late,” suggesting further escalation could follow.

Regional tensions remain high as both sides exchange threats, raising concerns over broader instability and potential disruption to global security and energy markets.
