NEW YORK – Web Desk: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres at the UN headquarters in New York to discuss regional and international peace, according to Express News.
The meeting covered the regional situation in West Asia, where Naqvi highlighted Pakistan’s mediation efforts to resolve ongoing conflicts. The two officials also discussed Pakistan’s longstanding contributions to UN peacekeeping missions and its role in promoting stability.
Naqvi stated that despite challenges, Pakistan has consistently demonstrated responsibility in fostering regional peace, stability, and the protection of human lives — with Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif playing key roles in these efforts. He also stressed that realistic mandates and adequate resources are essential for the success of peacekeeping missions.
Secretary-General Guterres appreciated Pakistan’s continuous services and long-standing cooperation with UN peacekeeping missions, commending Pakistan’s contributions to global peace and security.
