Indian Sailor Killed in Missile Attack on Ships in Strait of Hormuz

Date:

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – Web Desk: The Indian Embassy in the UAE has confirmed that an Indian sailor was killed in a missile attack on two commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz .

The targeted ships were identified as Al Bahiya and Mombasa B, according to the embassy’s official statement. The Indian mission expressed “profound grief and sorrow” over the loss of life and extended condolences to the affected family .

Embassy Monitoring Situation

The Indian Embassy said it is in contact with local authorities to provide “all possible diplomatic and consular assistance” to the injured and the families of victims, and is closely monitoring all developments .

Regional Tensions Mount

The attack comes as the Strait of Hormuz has become a flashpoint amid escalating military tensions in the Gulf . The strategic waterway, a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments, has seen a series of attacks on commercial vessels in recent weeks .

India has previously voiced concern over attacks on ships carrying its nationals, summoning US diplomats to protest incidents that killed Indian crew members .

No further details about the identity of the deceased sailor or the number of injured have been officially released.
